Upcycled Plastic Quilting Workshop at Dubai Design Week

Participants will learn how to up-cycle thier plastic waste into a modern piece of quilted artwork, designed to pair with the exhibition ‘Reframing Plastic’.

Suitable for adults and children over the age of 12
No prior sewing experience necessary

During this 2 hour workshop, participants will upcycle discarded packaging into modern artwork using traditional quilting patterns and embroidery techniques.
Participants are encouraged to bring in your own packaging to up-cycle: heavy plastic bags are easiest to work with but packaging from grocery items like pasta, nuts and crisps can often be used as well – be on the lookout for fun, colorful packaging to intercept on its way to the bin. We will also have a selection of material we’ve collected to choose from if need be.
